No one owns me | I owe no one

You give me money, I give you my expertise. I give you my roots, you pay me to complete the gap of mutual knowledge, lack of resources or the need for completion for various reasons. We honour each other. No obligation or ownership in this relationship.

Money is power. Often being paid, we are made to feel we owe something when in fact, we owe nothing because we bleed our roots of knowledge of our roots.

Many struggle. Some bridges are burnt. Some friendships were lost. Not everything is all about a return of investment.

Business and Community, can we go hand in hand? Interpreters and corporations often feel stuck in the between, some choose money, some choose community, and some try to balance between both.

People who speak and sign or choose to express themselves only in a non-marginalized language could be caught in the crossfire.

Me for one example, I struggle between limited resources and the decision of whether if I should make my messages multi-lingual. The difference between written and signed messages, signed messages show my face (warm) while written the typed in black and white (cold).

Business strategy – fish hooked, only carrot in the field. This does not sit well with me and my values, the precious community, and human and personal connection can be easily fragmented, and trust broken.

No one owes or owns no one. Connection is thought and energy-based – good thoughts, kind exchanges and selfless intentions elevate the energy and connection to a different level.
